e-gadget factory branding
Creating the brand, website, Flash assets, apps and
print material
With its focus in the education sector, the e-gadget factory offers a wide range of online activities (e-gadgets) to be used as teaching aids across various subjects and age groups.
As lead designer, it was great fun to come up with the branding, print material, website, Flash assets and applications. An application I both designed and developed was
Music Blocks, an audio-sequencer that encourages young children to compose, save and share their musical creations.
There were many challenges in establishing the e-gadget factory brand. One was to create e-gadgets for use on interactive whiteboards (IWB) in primary schools, which posed unique considerations for their design. As there were no guidelines for IWB application design for children, we established our own procedures, taking into account safe areas for interactive content (some users are only four feet tall), minimum text and button size, differing colour perception (including colour blindness) and much more.
Ssssh! Can you keep a secret?
Ok, this is kinda hush, hush but as it’s you…
As part of the continued success of Futera World Football an iPhone application is in development. Among other features the app will allow users to browse their card collections on their iPhone or iPod Touch.
The app is set for a 2010 launch.
