A major redevelopment of the Racing Steps Foundation website has resulted in a streamlined and effective online presence
The Racing Steps Foundation website provides information about the progress of RSF drivers within various racing championships. Over the years RSF has amounted a vast archive of news.
I was approached by Pagemakers to oversee the redevelopment of the site. Careful consideration went into the information architecture for the site, which had to incorporate existing data and be scalable for future expansion. Sketching out ideas early in the project proved essential in
creating a robust system, saving time and preventing future problems. There have been many feature updates to the site since its launch, which shows that the system is working well.
For the front-end, XHTML/CSS page templates were created and jQuery/AJAX functionality was added. Database design was implemented and the visuals were connected with the data through PHP.
I also created a bespoke Content Management System (CMS) to allow the client to add regular updates.
